The Mama Hiker's Guide to Steamboat Springs, CO

You'll start your day with pastries and coffee at Smell That Bread! bakery on 11th street to fuel up for the 6 mile hike. Then head to the Mad Creek trailhead; this hike has it all, with moderate elevation gain and a historic old barn to explore, creek to play in, fall colors to take in.

After the hike, stop at Back Door burger bar for one of the best burgers in town. Before the sun goes down, walk on over to Little Toots park right in the heart of downtown Steamboat and let the kiddos wear themselves out before heading back to the campsite.
